NERAHN Members Hold Strategy Session to Discuss Child Nutrition Reauthorization in Washington, D.C.

February 23, 2004 – The Northeast Regional Anti-Hunger Network (NERAHN) held a strategy session to discuss Child Nutrition Reauthorization with key Capitol Hill staffers in Washington, D.C. We were honored to have four legislative aides from the Northeast region participate:

Keith Stern – Office of Congressman James McGovern (MA)
Ron Anderson – Office of Congressman James Walsh (NY)
Janice Ryan – Office of Senator Patrick Leahy (VT)
Bridget Murphy – Office of Congressman Bernie Sanders (VT)

The discussion was helpful to all who attended. Advocates from the Northeast provided valuable information on hunger programs in their areas, and Congressional staffers weighed in on different strategies for strengthening and improving child nutrition programs when those programs are reauthorized. We thank the aides and the hunger advocates who contributed to the success of this event.
